Jamal recently graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor’s of Commerce and is excited to put his knowledge to use in his new role. Utilizing his top skills of hashtagadaptation, hashtagdecisionmaking and hashtaginnovation to add value to a team while also learning within this new environment.

We’re excited to continue to see Jamal prosper, while taking advantage of all that Onyx has to offer in order to advance his career and continue in his success!"

The mission of Onyx Initiative is to close the systemic gap in the recruiting and selection of Black university and college students and recent graduates for roles in corporate Canada. Onyx does this by fostering cohesive, mutually beneficial partnerships with corporations, educational institutions, and Black student groups to expand the Black Talent pipeline.

Onyx continues to do excellent work by forging mutually beneficial corporate, educational, and community partnerships to close the systemic gap in the hiring, retention, and promotion of Black college and university students and recent graduates for roles in corporate Canada.

Jamal takes great pride in his role as a dedicated member of Onyx. He enthusiastically encourages everyone within his network to consider becoming either a Mentor or a Scholar through the Onyx Initiative, believing wholeheartedly in its mission to create meaningful opportunities and empower the next generation of Black professionals.
